Even young kids can benefit from visualization. Young or older, the key is to practice DAILY—at home or at your sports activity. Improve your vision.
- Visualize lots of detail: color, size, shape, form. The more detail, the more real the experience seems (See It).
- Include other sensory systems, especially hearing and touching/feeling—even the smell of the surroundings.
- Include movement and body motion (running, walking, jumping).
- Imagine specific action sequences.
- Envision alternatives—if you falter, how do you recover?
