Shake out all your tension and just let all the tightness in your body fall away. Make yourself comfortable. Close your eyes. Place both hands on your belly. Simply be aware of your breathing. Notice your belly rise when you breathe in (inhale), and fall when you let air out (exhale). Continue breathing through your nose, in and out. If you are having difficulty with this activity, try the following:
- Lie down and place a light weight, such as a book, on your belly so you can see and feel it rise and fall.
- Lie on your stomach. This position may make it easier for you to notice your belly rising and falling.
