As an athlete, if you want to maximize your physical strengths and skills, you must train your thoughts and ability to visualize. Visualization, often referred to as mental rehearsal or guided imagery, can maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of your training. It’s one way to gain that “slim edge.”
Visualization is used by many of the greatest athletes in all sports. There is an old saying, “I need to see it to believe it.” It goes both ways: “I need to believe it to see it!”
Visualization is about seeing outside and within.
Athletes have their own personal ways to prepare for their sports. Some just show up without any practice, warm-up or preparation. Many great athletes have a routine. What’s your routine? Create one that gets you prepared physically, mentally and visually.
